Arguably one of the best designers to touch the hem of a garment, Yves Saint Laurent passed away Sunday June 1st after a longterm battle with brain cancer at his Paris home. Laurent began his career in fashion during the 1950s working under the tutalidge of Christian Dior. YSL is most well known for the mark he made on ready-to-wear.
*1950s suit designs by Yves Saint LAurentAnd for what may be a lesser known fact, YSL was the first designer to feature African American models in his runway shows; that alone makes Laurent a designer to be remembered and reveared in my mind.
I'd like to pay tribute to Yves Saint Laurant by highlighting one of my favorite YSL designers: the Muse handbag.
