JHud at the Super Bowl

Jennifer Hudson looked surprisingly cute while singing tonight's national anthem at the Super Bowl.

I really love that jacket she has on. If anyone knows the designer, let me know! I do have one issue with her outfit however: leggings are not pants! I repeat, leggings are not pants! Especially when you are knock-knee'd. That is one trend I wish would die in 2009.

What's Really Good Kanye?

I'm sure by now everyone has seen Kanye and his legion of Fashion-doers as they trounce around Paris fashion week. I haven't exactly figured out how I feel about this parade, so I will let you all decide for yourselves.

Are Kanye and crew fashion forward or recalling fashion trends better left in the past?

I love the vintage inspired Goyard and LV suitcases but the leopard pants, come on. And who exactly are these people? So many questions, so little time.

Sideline:

Rihanna on yesterday's Pepsi Smash Superbowl performance:

I think we all get she's the good girl gone bad, but I can't help but think that she's nothing more than an image that isn't even her true personality. I must say I like the edgy adaptations of these Christian Louboutin booties though.

Inauguration Fab

I've been absent for a minute but I just had to take a moment to highlight all the fabulousness that was the 56th Presidential Inauguration!!

Shots from the ceremony:

I was actually suprised at how well chartruese complimented the First Lady's complexion

I can't forget about Malia and Sasha who were absolutely too adorable in their J.Crew outfits:
I really love how bold the colors were.

And I can't go without showing the Obamas at the Neighborhood Inauguration Ball

This dress designed by Jason Wu may have been stunning, but I don't think it was the right fit for our First Lady. All of the Swarovski accents were just a little too much for me; however, I loved her color choice. I think she have worn her hair up, which is a style we rarely see from Michelle. I also love how Barack wore a white bowtie to his black tie affair. Loved it!

Since I have been my typical m.i.a. self, I wanted to drop in and say

Happy New Year!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and nye and and even better beginning to 2009.
My biggest resolution of the year is to become a better blogger. I often neglect my baby blog and in order to make my mark, I know I need to be mre consistent and focused. If you all see that I am not upholding this resolution, call me out on it! We all need a kick in the highwaisted wideleg dress trousers every now and then ;0)

Presidential Swag

It's no secret that the Obama's have been a hot topic in the fashion circuit. So when I saw these photos of the Pres-elect on theybf.com, I just had to put them here.

The photos, which are in TIME magazine's person of the year issue, were taken when Obama was in his 20's. If these photos don't prove that Barack was just born with swag, I don't know what does.

Enjoy!

Out & About: Holiday Fun

Last night, I attended the annual Fashion Reporter holiday party co-sponsored by Land Rover and Toys for Tots at the Land Rover Manhattan Dealership.

The theme of the party was vintage Hollywood, and I think my friend Erika and I did a pretty good job with our lace and satin accented dresses.

The DJ was hot and the diverse crowd turned out to be pretty fashionable.

There were a few individuals who caught my eye. What do you think about this set??

Ah Ha!

The moment I saw this picture of Dawn (formerly of Danity Kane), I had to put it up!

A couple months ago I posted these gorgeous Dior cut out wedges that I was absolutely enamored with:

and gave a suggestion on how to pair them with opaque black tights and a cute, spirited little black dress.
Well, it seems Dawn must be reading my blog because she took a page right out of my book! Just look at the cute ensemble she rocked to Teyana Taylor's 18th B-Day party.

Kudos to Dawn for following some fab fashion advice!
